Sew-In Days
Sew-Ins are announced now and then for members to gather in the club room for sewing with a common goal.
This Sew-In was August 27th, when around 25 women came to help the Woodshop with their annual project to provide toys for needy children in the area. Girls receive adorable doll beds and the boys get toy trucks and cars. We did our part in providing 100 little pillows, blankets, and bottom bedding for the doll cradles. It was a fun day, so thanks to all who came and helped.
Led by Sheri Munday, several Rip ‘n’ Sew members volunteered to work at sewing, cutting, stuffing to make 49 finished dog beds by the end of the 3 hour session and another 62 dog beds sewn and ready to be filled with the stuffing. The dog beds were given to service animals and “working dogs” in the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
